It was most definitely love at first sight! When I arrived at the Hospital and was introduced to
my new granddaughter, my heart and eyes swelled to overflowing. She was something to see!
Her eyes were round, sharp, and bright. They seemed to light up the very room we were in. She
was only a few hours old, but she seemed to know all about her environment. That wee tyke
could not have welcomed her family any better if she had really tried.
We took turns passing her around, and just admiring her. My little girl was like a precious and
rare jewel. She was able to exude magic and sparkle to all who looked upon her that evening.
Nothing could have prepared me for the positive effect that baby had on her family. We instantly
filled with love and concern for each other. In the baby's presence, good vibes were given to us all.
I wish I lived closer to my little darling, but I will be seeing her real soon! She is a grandparent's
special treat! We love you unconditionally, precious baby girl!

We have decided to not do a garden this year. It was a tough decision because we've gotten
used to the fresh grown produce. Our decision not to garden at this time was practically made for us
in that the soil seemed to need a rejuvenating period.
The vegetables coming from our garden in the last few years were not as bountiful as in previous
years. Production was 'way, 'way down. Our tomatoes were not as sweet and tasty as they normally
were. On and on; Okra, squash, beans, peppers, peas, etc, they haven't reached maxium growth
in quite a few years now.
Bottom line; No gardening in 2013! Hopefully the next year will prove to be a charm. We are not
giving up on raising vegetables. Just giving our little garden plot a much -needed rest. We are also
treating the soil with nutrients to enhance its producing abilities.
